So long...Summer of 2016

With autumn arriving yesterday, summer is officially over. The last vestiges of summer for us meant a trip to the PNE (Pacific National Exhibition) and outdoor barbecue dining to enjoy the last of the summer crops. PNE is held yearly in Vancouver where it brings out thousands of people for two weeks at the end of August where everyone can enjoy fair food, rides, shows, and games. We go to enjoy the food such as corn dogs, bbq, and anything deep fried. This year was no different eating about three corn dogs, and countless other unhealthy fair food. We met friends Kim and Jo at the PNE, where we all enjoyed delicacies only found there. We're not much on rides, so shows and food is what we go for. The close of PNE signifies start of school year and end of summer. Summer is truly short; seems as if it only arrived yesterday. It is now cooler, wetter, and days are shorter. Here's to summer of 2016!

Summer BBQ

Lamb and short beef ribs were grilled over a charcoal fire, served with salad and rice. J also made guacamole, salsa, and spinach dip. J also made delicious home-made ice cream to go with home made strawberry dessert brought by Kim. Just because summer is over, doesn't mean we will no longer barbecue the rest of the year. We always take the opportunity to do so anytime the weather is nice. Enjoy these last of our summer photos!
