The 1001 acre gem that is Stanley Park to the edge of downtown Vancouver was named the best park in the world by Tripadvisor in 2013. I go there regularly to jog and enjoy the beautiful ocean, mountains, and wildlife all along the seawall that surround the park. It is about 45 minutes from our house. What a rare treasure envisioned by the fathers of the city to have preserved this urban oasis and to have it evolve into what it is today. Along with beaches, there's a lake, trails into the forest, several memorials, huge old-growth trees, mini train, and the Vancouver Aquarium. Come summer, the beaches will be packed and the road with horse drawn carriages carrying people from around the world. It is also very clean, have great public facilities, and is a hub of activities all year around. Despite years of visiting this park, specially during the summer, there are still so many places within it that I have yet to explore. With the last of old man winter's cold wind dying, today truly felt like a wonderful early spring day with the cherry trees in bloom. There is always something beautiful to see!
